Comprehensive care

Our professional team is comprised of two oncoplastic breast cancer surgeons, with specialist training in breast reconstruction. As a group we are experienced in all aspects of breast cancer surgery and breast reconstruction, and are able to offer all types of breast reconstruction techniques tailored to the needs of each individual.

We have extensive experience in a wide range of reconstruction techniques, including:

  • Immediate one-stage reconstruction

  • Delayed reconstruction

  • Pre-pectoral implant reconstruction

  • Risk-reducing surgery

  • Fat transfer and re-modelling

We invite those wishing to discuss breast reconstruction options to make an appointment with one of our specialists.

Comprehensive information on breast reconstruction can be found at https://www.canceraustralia.gov.au/cancer-types/breast-cancer/treatment/surgery/breast-reconstruction

We are proud to use advanced techniques to assist in the care of our patients. See below for more information and examples.

THE MAGSEED & SENTIMAG PROBE

Dr Morris developed the skills to use this equipment during his fellowship experience in England. He has now incorporated the technology into his practice here in Australia, and indeed is the first to introduce the device to the local area.

The size of a grain of rice, the Magseed can be placed any time during the lead up to surgery and avoids the need for a traditional hookwire. A specially devised probe then accurately guides the surgeon towards the breast cancer.

SPY PORTABLE HANDHELD IMAGER

Uses flourescence imaging technology to provide real time assessment of blood flow during breast reconstruction surgery, and can also be used to accurately identify sentinel lymph nodes. Studies have demonstrated improved results in breast reconstruction using this technology. In 2019 Dr Morris was one of the first surgeons in NSW to utilise the device. It is now available at Lingard Private Hospital, where Dr Morris uses it routinely during breast reconstructions and node biopsies.
