BELINDA BURCHELL (RN)

Belinda is our breast care nurse and clinical nurse specialist in the operating theatres at the Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital.

Belinda brings experience, care and extensive knowledge of surgery and cancer care to help our patients and their families, providing comprehensive pre and post-operative care.

Belinda is an advocate for our patients allowing coordination of care and helping clarify technical and complex health information. Most importantly she offers the empathy needed to care for our patients with an easy going communication style.

Belinda completed her Diploma of Health Science Nursing at the University of Western Sydney, before commencing work at the Royal North Shore Hospital specialising in perioperative nursing.

Belinda then worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Unit Manager at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. At this time she took the opportunity to further her post graduate studies, completing a Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing at the Australian Catholic University, and Graduate Certificate II in Sterilisation Technology.

Belinda has a keen interest in oncoplastic breast surgeries and breast cancer care. She has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Breast Cancer Nursing.
